New user says hello

Hi all fellow-users and admins,

Way back in the 80s I bought a Novag Mind Activator and used it for laughs and getting to sleep. It died on me a few years back and recently I've been having trouble sleeping so I looked for replacement. My Proteus arrived last Friday and I'm very impressed with the quality and all the options. I thought I might not like the red/green LEDs but they're fine, the over-all experience is better than with the old machine (but then I'd expect that 25 years later). Been reading a lot over here (very helpful, thank you!) and have already ordered a Thoughtstream unit to play with. Back then I practiced Silva Mind Control (active alpha meditation) on a daily basis and felt the meditation-like experience L&S offers was too 'passive'. But in this phase, with the children and the work and everything, I must say it's very convenient and it's made me feel better whenever I've used it (since Friday that would be 1,5 times a day average). I feel like I'm going to get a lot more out of this great little machine than 'just' sleep.
