Thread: What is "Modulation" of aux source?

  1. Default What is "Modulation" of aux source?

    Howdy,

What is "Modulation", how is the signal modulated exactly, and why?

    Thanks

Partially what I am asking is:

1- Whether or not the aux source is added to the onboard audio, perhaps forcing it into the same tempo as the onboard audio (or with some other method that syncs both together)?

2- Or does modulated in this this instance simply means "mixed" with the on board audio?

Hi-- the AUX modulation setting causes the external audio input to be amplitude modulated, so in a sense it becomes an "iscochronic" source. This works best with slowly changing ambient audio and at slower frequencies. Higher frequencies start to sound like granular synthesis which might not be entirely pleasant... :-)
