Re: Driver install problem
Hi Adam;
Sounds like you didn't follow the video exactly. Did you perhaps jump a step or do something different?
After you have run the Procyon installer and downloaded and installed the Win7 SiLabs driver as the thread shows, the next steps are:
- Click on the windows icon to bring up the Start Menu
- Right-Click on Computer
- Click on Manage
- Click on Device Manager
- Right-Click on Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge (COMx)
- Click on Update Driver Software...
- Click on Browse my computer for driver software on the "Update Driver Software" Window
- Click on Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer on the next Window
- Click on Have Disk... on the "Select the device driver..." Window
- Click on Browse... on the "Install from Disk" Window
- Browse to Program Files (x86)\Silabs\MCU\CP210x (or wherever the drivers were installed) on the "Locate File" Window
- Click on slabvcp.inf
- Click Ok
- Click Ok on the "Install from Disk" Window
- Click Next on the "Select the device driver..." Window
- Click Yes at "Update Driver Warning" message
- Click Close when driver update completed.
At that point the yellow exclamation mark should be gone.
If that doesn't work, let me know what step you get stuck at.
-Andy.
Re: Driver install problem
Hi Andy,
I spoke too soon, as I finally managed to install the driver and firmware upgrade before your reply. Thanks anyway for the help! - The firmware upgrade really does make a difference.
Kind regards,
Adam
