hi there, my proteus has broken and i am wanting to get a new machine.. i have tried a friend's procyon and the programmes worked well, but i found the lights much dimmer than my old proteus, so i guess my question is that is there any future plans for making the lightframes a bit brighter??

It's true that the Proteus frames will go brighter than the Procyon. There has been some discussion regarding this. There are plusses and minuses for both sides. In making the Procyon 3-colour frames, they are using the brightest SMT LEDs that were available that wouldn't drain the battery too quickly.
Brighter LEDs would drain the batteries, so the Procyon would likely need to be connected to AC or PC for power. Furthermore, there is little evidence to support that brighter lights will entrain better than dimmer ones.
It seems though that some people simply prefer brighter frames and aren't concerned with battery life and that is just fine! :cool:
Since there is interest in having brighter frames for the Procyon, they may offer brighter frames as an upgrade in the future, but just not at this time.
